Unexpected Passing of Susan Han, Vice Chair of AAFCC
On the afternoon of April 14, 2024, we received the news of the sudden passing of Susan Han, Vice-chair of Arirang Age Friendly Community Centre (AAFCC) from her family. Around two weeks ago, we were shocked to hear that she underwent surgery due to sudden health complications. It is deeply saddening for all of us at AAFCC to learn of her passing so suddenly, just few a day after the surgery. She was a remarkable individual who made significant contributions to her community and the legal profession.
Susan was a dedicated fixture in our community. She served as a board member and Vice-Chair for the AAFCC, contributing significantly to the acquisition of the Rose of Sharon Long-Term Care Home. Her passion for serving the community extended beyond legal matters. As a partner lawyer specializing in securities and corporate law at WeirFoulds LLP, a prominent law firm on Bay Street, she led a team of volunteers to coordinate the acquisition of the Rose of Sharon out of receivership, ensuring that Korean Canadians have culturally appropriate long-term care options.
Susan is survived by her husband Ross Price, sons Gregory and Scott, two siblings Sally and Douglas, and especially by her dearly cherished mother.

Info: We will meet at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, located at 375 Mount Pleasant Rd. Toronto, Ontario M4T 2V8. Please enter into the cemetery through the EAST gates off of Mount Pleasant Rd., drive straight forward towards a small red brick bungalow and turn right in front of this building, turn down the first laneway on the left which will bring you to the Funeral Centre. The Funeral Centre is a large two-story building alongside a large parking lot.

To honor Susan’s memory and continue her legacy, a memorial fund has been established. The fund aims to contribute to the capital expansion of Arirang long-term care, allowing the community to benefit from additional beds and services.
Susan Han’s kindness, dedication, and expertise will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. May her memory inspire others to make a positive impact in their communities as she did.
